Long before he ever threw out his first pitch, Major League ballplayer Jake Peavy fell in love with music.
"My grandfather sang in the church choir, so music's always been a positive force in my life," Peavy explains. "As I got older, my father introduced me to a few other 'saints' - Waylon Jennings, Johny Cash, Willie Nelson. Baseball is how I make a living, but music and family are what keep me alive."
Throughout his career, Jake has invested himself in the rich musical traditions of every city he's lived in: San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago, and Boston. Through his foundation, his own music, and now, through Dauphin Street Sound (located in his home town of Mobile, Alabama), Jake has continued to expand his life and the lives of others through the power of music.
